Improving the Halfcomb Super End Fill
The collective surface of the cassette walls
The cassettes at the short ends of the super will be better filled if the opaque 1/8" short followers are substituted with clear plastic or nothing at all. The warm circulating air and radiant heat
from the bees keep it warmer for comb building at the super ends. The collective plastic of the cassettes serves in place of the opaque follower on the inside of end spaces. The springs and small spacers
are installed. They now press against plastic.
The opaque followers may be relocated in the supers against the walls to keep peripheral space the same and serve as the outside wall of free space.
